Afy Douglas was a Nigerian gospel music artist, songwriter, and producer. He was born on May 29, 1968, in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Douglas was the fourth child in a family of nine children.

As a child, Douglas showed a keen interest in music and began singing in his local church choir at a young age. He learned to play the piano and guitar and began writing his own songs in his teenage years.

In 1992, Douglas released his debut album, “Heavenly Father,” which was well-received by the Christian music community in Nigeria. Over the course of his career, he released several other albums, including “I Am That I Am,” “Chukwu Ebube,” and “Ebenezer.”

Douglas was known for his powerful vocals and his ability to infuse traditional African rhythms into his music. He often sang in his native language, Ikwerre, as well as English.

In addition to his music career, Douglas was also a pastor and a businessman. He founded the Afy Douglas Group, which included a record label, a publishing company, and a music academy.

Tragically, Afy Douglas passed away on August 12, 2016, at the age of 48, after a brief illness. His death was a great loss to the Nigerian music community, but his music continues to inspire and uplift listeners around the world.
