Aaron Shust is an American contemporary Christian music artist and songwriter, born on October 31, 1975, in Pennsylvania, USA. He grew up in a Christian family, and his parents encouraged him to pursue music at a young age. Shust learned to play the guitar and piano and started leading worship in his church when he was still a teenager.
After completing high school, Shust attended Toccoa Falls College in Georgia, where he studied music theory and composition. He continued leading worship in his church and began writing his own songs. In 2000, Shust married his wife Sarah, and together, they moved to Pittsburgh, where he worked as a graphic designer and continued to write and perform music.
In 2005, Shust won the “Songwriter of the Year” award at the GMA Academy’s “Music in the Rockies” conference. The same year, he signed a recording contract with Brash Music and released his debut album, “Anything Worth Saying,” which featured the hit song “My Savior, My God.” The album was a commercial success and received a Dove Award for “New Artist of the Year” in 2007.
Shust went on to release several more successful albums, including “Whispered and Shouted” in 2007, “Take Over” in 2009, and “This Is What We Believe” in 2011. He has received multiple Dove Award nominations and won several awards, including “Song of the Year” for “My Hope Is in You” in 2012.
In addition to his music career, Shust is a devoted husband and father of three children. He is also actively involved in his church and has served as a worship pastor in various churches throughout his career.
