Leeland

Leeland Mooring, better known as simply Leeland, is a Christian music artist, songwriter, and worship leader. He was born on June 16, 1988, in Baytown, Texas. Leeland grew up in a musical family, with his parents serving as worship leaders at their church. He started playing guitar at the age of 11 and began writing songs soon after.

In 2004, Leeland and his band, also named Leeland, signed with Essential Records. Their debut album, “Sound of Melodies,” was released in 2006 and featured hit songs like “Sound of Melodies” and “Tears of the Saints.” The album received critical acclaim and earned Leeland a Dove Award for New Artist of the Year.

Leeland’s second album, “Opposite Way,” was released in 2008 and included the popular songs “Count Me In” and “Brighter Days.” The album was also well-received and earned the band another Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year.

Since then, Leeland has released several more albums, including “Love Is on the Move” in 2009, “The Great Awakening” in 2011, “Invisible” in 2016, and “Better Word” in 2019. Leeland has been praised for his heartfelt and worshipful music, and his songs have been covered by many other Christian artists.

In addition to his music career, Leeland has also been involved in ministry and has led worship at various events and conferences. He is married to his wife, Jack Mooring, and they have two children together.
