Words of the Devil

The words of the devil are his number one weapon. He used them to deceive Eve in Genesis 3:4. He used them to tempt the Lord Jesus Christ in the wilderness in Matthew 4:1-11. And he uses words to deceive people today. That is his nature. He is a deceiver. And a liar; the bible says it this way in John 8:44: “When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Now, demons speak against you every blessed day in the realm of the spirit. The arrows of the devil we, Christians, have been referring to are not those in the physical realm. Look, witches and wizards pronounce curses on Christians every time. They do that, especially, in their gatherings.

To destroy the words of the devil, do exactly what Jesus Christ did when He was tempted in the wilderness. Eve did not know this. The Lord knew who He is. Eve never knew who she was. You can deduce that from the conversation she had with the devil. She would have done what Christ did, too.

Work to overcome his weapon, not him. Because we have already overcome him in Christ. He is a looser. And the key to overcoming his weapon is in Matthew 4:4: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Surely, he starts by influencing man with the desires of the flesh. He knows your weaknesses, and what can whet your appetite.

But what is God’s Word concerning that matter? That is your weapon, the sword. Use it when it is needed; speak it out loud when you are tempted. Jesus did that, too.

Look, every word that comes out of your mouth is spiritual. James 3:2-14 also warns us to be careful with how we use our tongue. It is possible to destroy your life with what you say. Jesus said in John 6:63 that the words that He speaks to his disciples are spirit, and they are life. But the words of the devil are death. Remember that God used His Word to create (Genesis 1:1). And the Word of God is the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1).

Meaning, a Christian speaks God’s Word; you are in Christ, the Word, and He is in you by the Holy Ghost. Your spirit is mingled with God’s Spirit; He dwells in you; you are full of Him. Whatever that comes out of you is Him, the Word.

We are more than conquerors and have overcome Satan already. His only strength has been to lie, and deceive man. And he even tried to deceive the Lord with his words. Position him where he ought to be when he comes. Do that by not just confessing the gospel of Jesus Christ but affirming it. You have the power to use the prosperity grammar to destroy all curses that are cast against you and your family. Hallelujah.
