Bible Verses about God’s Approval of Women Pastors

Women Pastors

One of the Apostle Paul’s view on how women should conduct themselves to please God when worshipping Him is this:

I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

1 Timothy 2:12, NIV

His reason is:

For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

1 Timothy 2:13-14, NIV

But it looks like he’s trying to count women out of what Christ did for mankind here:

Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

1 Timothy 2:15, KJV

Was the Apostle Paul trying to nullify God’s grace, Christ? For we all know it’s not by works anymore. It’s the reason he insulted the Galatians, saying:

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.

Galatians 3:1-16, KJV

Is Paul saying in 1 Timothy 2:12-15 that women are not the seed of Abaraham?

No. He knows they’re.

But wait. Was it not the same Paul who allowed sister Priscilla to take Apollos aside to explain to him the way of God more accurately with her husband, Aquila?

And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Acts 18:26, KJV

So, what changed, brother Paul? You were with them when Apollos being fervent in spirit, spoke and taught boldly and accurately in the synagogue the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John (Acts 18:25).

There must be a reason.

Now, let’s dive right in to show God’s approval of Women Pastors:

1 Timothy 2:12 didn’t say women should not be Pastors

They can be. But can only teach women.

To help you get it clearer, discover who a Pastor is from this post: Bible Verses about the Difference between a Bishop and a Pastor.

A Pastor feeds (equips and edifies by teaching) the Church. It’s one of the ways Christ oversees members of His body. He uses Pastors to feed the Church.

They feed the Church with the Word of God, which is food for your soul. Remember, the Word is the Lord Jesus (John 1:1 and 1:14). The Word is eternal, it protect, guide, and helps you in so many ways. The Word is Lord over the Church. The living Word Pastors feed members of the body of Christ with exercises Lordship over them.

The Church is you. You’re a member of the body of Christ. Women are members of God’s body, the Church. Female Pastors can teach and oversee women in the Church. They, teaching men in the body is forbidden by him per what he, the apostle, said.

The Apostle Paul didn’t say women shouldn’t preach the Gospel to men

He said they shouldn’t teach them. Teaching and preaching are two different things. We preach by proclaiming the Gospel to the world. And we teach the Word to the Church; the reason for the five ministry gifts to the Church, not the world. See Bible verse below:

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Ephesians 4:11-13, NKJV

Women preaching the Gospel to men is allowed; because we’re all the seed of Abraham sent to go out there and win back the sheep that are lost. And the apostle Paul didn’t say women shouldn’t preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus and His Kingdom to men.

Also, why didn’t Jesus choose women as some of his apostles?

He simply didn’t want women to teach or assume authority over men if what Paul said was of the Lord Jesus.

It was. And is.

Note here: the Lord Jesus chose the apostles before the new creation in Christ. He knew that the new creation in Him will enable women to serve members of His body when the time comes.

Women served as messengers of God in the Old Testament

Today, Christians are mesengers of God. They’re made the ministers of reconciliation in Christ.

All those in the five ministry gifts are Christians. Meaning, they’re mesengers of God too.

Are the women in the body of Christ not Christians?

They’re ministers of God reconciling the world to God. They’re God’s mesengers. And God’s mesengers preach to the world.

What if Women Pastors are permited to take part in teaching a Church?

See, sister Priscilla was able to take Apollos aside to explain to him the way of God more accurately with her husband, Aquila because of the spiritual principle: “the two shall be one”. There was no difference btween Aquila and his wife. Whatever his wife said to Apollos was his words. His words are him. Your words are you. The Word of God is Him. Apollos understood that. Priscilla was permited.

Don’t complain or speak against any Church that agrees to be Pastored by women Pastors.

It’s that simple.

Woman of God, this is what to do

Some Women Pastors can teach better than most men Pastors. But it looks like Paul’s saying no.

So, my sister, woman Pastor, do well to stick to teaching and assuming authorithy over women who are members of the Church, and preach the Gospel to the world, heal the sick, raise the dead, work miracles, prophecy, excel in your ministry.

You’re made Sons of God; the seed of Abraham. You’re made a blessing to bless all men and women.

Only teach men if and when you’re permited, for there’s no difference between men and women in Christ.

Now you know what the Bible says about women Pastors.

You’re blessed.
