What Is The Biblical Order Of The Family?

Biblical Order Of The Family

Want to enjoy your family?

Today’s post will help you.

The two verses in the Bible that summarizes the Biblical order of the family are 1 Corinthian 11:3: “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” And Ephesians 5:23: “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.”

Did you notice Christ is part and even the head of the Christian family? We thank God. Hallelujah!.

But look, children are not mentioned in the only two verses that summarizes the order. Yet it is their parents that gave birth to them, protect, and have authority over them.

You may be wondering:

“What has the Bible to say on the roles of each member of a Christian family?”

Right, find them below.

Ephesians 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

Ephesians 5:28, “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”

Ephesians 5:4, “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

1 Timothy 3:2-6, A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

Ephesians 5:22, Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Ephesians 5:24, Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Ephesians 6:1-3, Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise 😉 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

The Whole family, including Jesus Christ’s role

Acts 5:29, Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men.
