This Is How To Put Away Your Wrong Desires

You’ve been praying for lusting to stop. And to overcome or flee from sin, right?

Well, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has the solution for you in this video except:

The Bible in John 5:18 (KJV) says, “The Jews sought the more to kill Him (the Lord Jesus Christ)…”

That means to put Him to death.

The Jews sought to slay Him. This is a murderous kind of killing.

Now, none of these terms is used in what He told us to do when He said, “Put to death the members of your body” in Colossians 3:5: “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:”

The word “mortify” used in Colossians 3:5 is “Nekroo.” That’s where we, English speaking, got “Nekrosis” from.

(Example: Avascular Necrosis is the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply)

That means subjecting to death by the interruption of blood supply. If there is a problem with the supply of blood to a member of your body, that place dies.

So what is Colossians 3:5 telling us to do?

It is telling us to subject the members of our bodies to death by cutting off its supply. It’s something we can do.

Those things you don’t like to do, those things God tells you not to do, how can you stop from doing them?

Cut off the supply from your thought system. Don’t feed them with your thoughts. If you’re putting away some of the videos you’re watching, you will be cutting off the supply. Some of the books you’re reading, the websites you’re visiting that gives you all the nasty evil desires – If you put those things away,  you will cut off the supply. But as long as you’re feeding your flesh, you will only continue to do more of them.

Cut off the supply, and you will find that your behavior will change. Because you’re no longer fed with those things that give you the wrong desires. Christianity must be practiced.

We believe you won’t come asking, “How do I flee from adultery?” anymore.

Now, starve your fleshly desires.
