You may be wondering: “Who is God?” Well, you will discover what the bible says from today’s post.
Who is God? He is the Alpha and the Omega
God is the beginning. He existed before the beginning of all things. Meaning, there is nobody before Him. Not even anything like “Mum and dad.” Everything on Earth and in Heaven has a beginning. But He has no beginning. If He had parents, they would have been His source or beginning. He is the end. He has no successor. There is nobody after Him. Everything shall pass away, and He will see to that. He will make sure all things pass away. His job is to obey His Word, for He has lifted His Word above His Name. So He will do it. Meaning God is the First and the Last, The Beginning and The End (Rev. 1:8, 11, 21:16, 22:13).
Who is God? His Name is Jehovah
Look, Jehovah is His one and only Name. His titles are not His Name. They are many; we have Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot (The Lord, The God of hosts) in Amos 4:13, Akal `Esh (Consuming Fire) in Deuteronomy 4:24 and Exodus 15:7; 24:17, Al-ilāh or Al-lāh or Allah or Allāh (The meaning is “the God”. It has long been used by Jews, Christians and Arabic peoples, far BEFORE the existence of Islam. Aramaic transliteration: Elah and ʼĔlāhā (emphatic). The meaning is “God”. Arabic: الله), El Shaddai (Almighty God) in Genesis 17:1 and Ezek. 10:5, Ancient of days in Daniel 7:9, 13-14, 22, Abba (Meaning Father or Daddy) in Mark 14:36; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6, Abir or Abhir (Meaning The Mighty One ), and more. Notice “God” looks singular in all the English translations. But the Hebrew is “Elohim” which is plural in Genesis 1:1. That is why we have God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Who is God? He’s the Father of Jesus Christ and Christians
1 Corinthians 8:6 says, “Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.” So He is the Father of us, Christians. Remember that He is the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, too. He is the Father of all those who believe in Jesus Christ. And the father of sinners is Lucifer because we, Christians, don’t sin. But we can. John 8:44 says it this way: “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
Who is God? He is Eternal
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He has never been a baby, toddler, teen, adult. People and things come and go. They grow old and die. He doesn’t. Meaning He is not under time, we are. God is eternal. 1 Timothy 1:17 makes it clearer: “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” And He has given Christians the gift of eternal life. Romans 6:23 says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.” But no Christian can live beyond Him. We are one with Him. You become eternal like Him when you receive Jesus Christ. We live forever.
Who is God? He’s the Creator of all Men
The creator said in Genesis 1:26, “Let Us make man in our image, according to our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” He is the uncreated creator of all men, including sinners. You are the only being in all creation that looks exactly like Him. You were created in the image and likeness of the Him that sits in the circumference of Himself.
Who is God? He’s the Savior of the World
He is the Savior of the World, not Christians. He sent His only begotten son to come and die for every man. The Savior paid for the sin of the world. And that’s the Good News we, Christians, are sent to spread. Many still do not know. He is the Savior Himself because He is the Word. John 1:1 tells us the Word is God: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Word is the Lord Jesus, too.
