Why Christians are Regarded as Intolerant “Haters”

Christians are regarded as intolerant “Haters” because some Christians preach judgement instead of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.

See, we’re not ordained as ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18) to accuse men. Many in the body of Christ drive away the very people they’re supposed to win for God’s glory by condemning them.

What has the dress or makeup she’s wearing got to do with salvation?

You expect her to join you after condemning her. No. According to John 3:17, Jesus didn’t come to condemn. He came to save. His name means Savior. Jesus saves. Christians save, too. Because we are the Way today and “as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17, KJV).

Christians preach the Gospel only

The Gospel is God’s power to save man (Romans 1:16).

All you need to do is to tell her how much God loves her, even in her current state. Christ died for us whiles we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), remember? God first loved you so you can love Him (1 John 4:19). The prostitute can’t stop prostituting without God’s power.

It’s not by your works like prayers, giving, fasting, righteousness, and whatever; it’s all by His grace to be His Child (Ephesians 2:8-9). God caused you to will and to do of His pleasure (Philippians 2:13), you see. So, frightening her with your judgement preaching won’t help, just like the law couldn’t (Romans 8:3).

She may be like “Whaaaaat, this is not true. God loves me, a prostitute?” Oh yes, should be your answer. Then invite her to join you in church meetings. After a period, she’ll stop prostituting without anyone asking her to – as she keeps feeding on the Word of God.

Make no mistake to ask her to stop prostituting. Be wise in your approach. Preach and teach the Gospel as it is to her.

What’s the Gospel?

The Gospel is the Goodnews, the news which is too good to be true.

The Gospel is, God loves you as you are and He wants you to come to Him as you are. He’s not asking the prostitute to stop prostituting before coming to Him.

It’s not bait and switch because we don’t end up teaching the law in the church. You preached the Gospel to win the soul. Teach it till the soul is fully transformed. Teach God’s grace. Let your new convert know Christ, not the law.

Now…

When were Christians first regarded as intolerant “Haters”?

Michael J. Kruger, president and Samuel C. Patterson professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Reformed Theological Seminary, Charlotte, NC, asked that question on his canon fodder.

The answer is this: when they started condemning the men they’re supposed to reconcile to God.

Truth is, Christians can’t hate, per our nature. God is love and we’re His children. We love all of our Father’s creation. Read 1 John 4:7-21.

And yes, some Christians judge, condemn and hate each other

Are those who do such things Christians?

Yes, but babies in Christ; they’re controled by their flesh, strongholds and deception. Most of such babies are moralists. A Christian is not a moralists because Christianity is not moralism.
