All About Hell and The Eternal Fire

Hell and the eternal fire are two different places, entered and or used at two different times.

Most people think hell is the eternal fire. No, it’s not. Also, the lake of eternal fire is not in hell today. Because hell will be taken and cast into the lake of fire on the last day, this is the second death (Revelation 20:14). “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36, KJV). There may be fire in hell today but it’s certainly not the last day’s lake of fire.

2 Peter 2:4 says hell is the place where the angels that sinned are. They’re held there in chains of darkness to be judged on the last day. God will cast them into the lake of eternal fire after judgement on that day. The bible shows that the soul of sinners are also held in hell for the last day:

2 stages of death exist

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

Revelation 20:13-14, KJV

Man goes to where he belongs when he finally exits his flesh. You’re dead if you’re not in Christ. Man’s presence in hell is his first death. And his presence in the eternal fire is his second death. If you like: The first death is when man find himself in hell. And the second is when he finds himself in the lake of fire on the last day after he’s judged:

The fearful, and unbelieving (if one is not a Christian), and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8, KJV

God forbid.

God does not want man to be in hell

So, He sent His Word to save man from that place. Jesus is God’s Word (John 1:1-14). Jesus died for man. He went to hell in man’s place. Then proceeded into the lake of fire for man. And He gave man His life. Some people are yet to hear about Him, others have refused to receive Him and there are those in apostacy. Christians have Him. Hell is not a place for Christians (Acts 2:26-27).

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

John 3:17-18, KJV

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

2 Peter 3:9, KJV

What’s life like in hell?

The souls of sinners go there when they exit their flesh.

That place is unpleasant. Evil spirits in there will suffer you till the judgement day.

life in hell is like being in a police custody in Ghana. Inmates (evil spirits) in the police cells beat the hell out of newbies (sinners). They suffer in there whiles waiting to be tried in Court (Judgement day) for jail (the lake of fire).

Even in the fire, evil spirits, per their nature, will still torment souls whiles in pain themselves. Jails everywhere on earth tells what will happen in the fire; some people still attack others in jails.

Yes, evil spirits can and will torment souls in there, but can’t destroy them. Matthew 10:28 says only God can destroy both the soul and body in hell. Only the Father knows when the judgement day is.

Bible Verses about Hell

Luke 16:19-31, KJV

“19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
